Wow does this part hit the nail on the head: "Typically in IT we’re pretty good at the rational engagement - explaining why a change needs to happen or a product should be used. We’re sometimes okay with the behavioural piece in that we train people how to use the technology - but more often than not - we completely skip the emotional part. The best way I’ve found to connect with people about a change on an emotional level is to find out ‘what’s in it for them’. Yep - we’re a pretty self centred bunch when it comes down to it! "
I've never heard about transformation labs. Any partners want to chime in?

Anonymous Feb 10, 2015 3:34 PM (in response to Anonymous)I think keep it short, and keep it compelling are the two big ones in the space I work in.
When you present the message in a way that the user doesn't have to re-read things, or can capture the message in a glance you are winning.
Compelling, by showing the benefits to the end-user and the company a whole to get minimal push-back for projects.
Great post.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your comment - I couldn't agree more about keeping messaging short and simple. We're all so stretched for time that if a message doesn't capture our attention immediately we often move onto the next thing.
This is why creating a fun project brand can also be so impactful as people will pay more attention - I know I always do!
